The Chatter section is designed to provide a number of ways Concordian educators, Nanae educators, and Nanae Town Office International Relations Section (IRS) staff can communicate with each other about shared educational goals and how the two towns can use new technologies to implement these goals. Educators have the values and skills to maximize the potential of the sister city relationship. The International Relations Section plays a critical role in connecting educators with each other and making certain that the educators are working within the goals and objectives of Nanae's schools, as overseen by the Superintendent of Schools. Chatter will have three active sections: Discussion, Summer 2008 Goals, and Summer 2008 Schedule. There will be three informational sections: Concord Contributors, Nanae Contributors, and IRS Photos .
The Discussion section will be the central site for dialog among educators and Nanae Town IRS members. It is an open platform that can lead to a better understanding of what we are trying to achieve together. Language will continue to be a difficulty, but the wiki will also provide an opportunity to experiment with translation software.
The Summer 2008 Goals section will provide the opportunity to clarify and to keep in the forefront the many goals for Concord's visit to Nanae this summer.
The Summer 2008 Schedule is the day by day schedule proposed for while the Concord delegation is in Nanae this summer. The first submission is very similar to the proposed schedule sent to Nanae when the visit was first proposed. It assumes funding from the Concord Education Fund. The differences reflect a better understanding in Concord about the potential of the wiki. It does not reflect anything on the Nanae side and, therefore, serves as a point of discussion. As the goals and funding are clarified over time, the schedule will change. It is there as food for thought. Together Concord and Nanae will clarify the goals and determine the schedule that will best implement them.
The October 2008 Schedule is the day by day schedule proposed for while the Nanae delegation is in Concord this October. It is a work in progress.
